Well, the biggest news in my world lately is that I’m now scheduled to get out of here around the 1st of November, a good week sooner than I’d expected! That means that I’ve done 76% of my time down here, and the rest is going to be a cakewalk. Life continues to go very well. Normally we get one two day weekend per month, but lately we’ve had them every two weeks, which has done a lot for morale. Last week was pretty full with a beach party, an art show, the band played, and we had a special Indian curry dinner. Tomorrow I’m working on my day off to try to patch some issues with the network, but after that we’ve got a bar crawl and a science lecture. We’ll be doing the 2nd hash next weekend, and I’m sure other things will pop up.

The light on the horizon is really getting impressive. Right now the full moon is up, so that combined with the increasing amount of daylight makes for a great atmosphere to take walks in. I’ve been going out a lot more lately, both for sightseeing purposes, and to try to get back into summer shape. I don’t want to have to show up on a beach in Australia looking like some kind of beached whale! 🙂

Right now I’m planning on being back in the states sometime around the 1st week in February. I think I’ve got another job lined up afterwards, but I don’t want to say anything about it until it is official. I have booked a good bit of my vacation experiences. Right now I’m going to Australia for November, Africa for December, and the mid-east for January. If everything works out properly, I’ll summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on Christmas day, and then I’ll spend New Year’s Eve hanging out with my brother somewhere in Germany. Prices for a RTW ticket have increase a bit since last time, but I’m expecting to pay somewhere slightly less than $2000.00 USD for a ticket. Not bad when you consider all the places I’m going to.
