After years of hiking, it was finally time for my buddy John to make his attempt on his final 14er in Colorado.  Crestone Peak near South Colony Lake was going to be the finisher, and we had a really great crowd to go climbing with.  The weekend started out with an easy backpack near the lake.  Early the next morning we got up before dawn and started hiking up the trail.  It didn’t take too long before we were hitting the east gully, and then working our way over class 3 terrain to the top.  The weather couldn’t have been better and it was great to have such a fun bunch of people to hang out with.
